Frequently Asked Questions
Can I invite family and friends?
Yes! We encourage you to invite your family and friends to join you in viewing your exciting new addition! Our ultrasound room is spacious and comfortably accommodates 10-12 guests. Should you wish to bring additional guests, they are more than welcome; however, please note that they may need to stand if the seating capacity is exceeded.
How early can I find out the gender of my baby?
Our sneak peek blood test allows you to know the gender as early as 7 weeks. On ultrasound, we can tell as early as 13 weeks!
What is the best time for a 3D/4D scan?
We recommend scheduling your appointment between 28 and 32 weeks for the best experience. If you have an anterior placenta (placenta located in the front), we suggest coming in between 28 and 29 weeks for optimal results.
What if my baby doesn’t show his or her face during my 3D/4D scan?
While we are typically able to capture clear images, we understand that some babies prefer to make a return visit! If your baby is not cooperative during your scan, we offer free rescans with all of our 3D/4D ultrasound packages. We will bring you back within the following week at no additional cost to try again.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we recommend booking an appointment in advance to avoid any wait times. However, same-day appointments may be available depending on our schedule. Feel free to give us a call to inquire about same-day availability!
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment to avoid any charges. Failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in a cancellation fee of $25. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we strive to accommodate our customers to the best of our ability.
What is your no-show policy?
A $25 no-show fee will apply for any missed appointments without prior notice, as the time could have been allocated to another appointment. We understand that life happens and circumstances beyond your control may arise. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will gladly waive the no-show fee.
What if I don’t want to find out the gender of my baby during my ultrasound?
This is absolutely no problem and quite common! If you prefer to keep the gender a secret during your scan, we will ask you to look away while we capture the gender images. Afterward, we will place the pictures in an envelope and seal it for you.
We want to keep the baby’s gender a secret until birth, is that possible?
Yes, if you wish to keep your baby's gender a surprise until birth, we will be sure that we avoid the lower body and any gender-related details. During the scan, we will focus exclusively on your baby's face and heartbeat, without going below the chest. At the end of the scan, we will not know the gender either, ensuring there is no chance of accidentally referring to the baby as a boy or girl.
Do you offer refunds on ultrasounds?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for any of our services. However, we are committed to going above and beyond to capture the best possible images of your baby. If necessary, we offer free rescans, extended scan time, and other efforts to ensure you receive the highest quality pictures possible.
Can any of my ultrasounds here take the place of my ultrasounds from my doctor?
We are an elective prenatal imaging center, focused on creating keepsake memories and providing peace of mind. However, we strongly recommend that you remain under the care of an OB/GYN throughout your entire pregnancy. Your OB/GYN will conduct diagnostic scans to monitor your baby's health, which is crucial for your well-being and baby’s well-being.
Is it safe to get multiple ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy?
Absolutely! Ultrasound has been used for over 30 years and has consistently been shown to be safe, with no evidence of harm to either the mother or baby.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
If you are under 18 weeks, we recommend arriving with a full bladder. For 3D/4D scans, we suggest drinking plenty of water for about a week or two prior to your appointment. The more amniotic fluid, the better the quality of the 3D/4D images!
Are your ultrasound technicians licensed?
Yes, all of our ultrasound technicians have graduated from an accredited ultrasound program and are fully registered in OB/GYN.
Do we take insurance?
No, at Precious Prints, we do not accept insurance, as we are an elective ultrasound studio.
